Azúcar Presents: Sound, Movement and Race

Azúcar’s next event brings you a Capoeira performance followed by a panel discussion, and a Q+A led by 5 PoC artists whose work focuses on movement and sound. Contemporary dancers, performers, and social activists will come together to explore the connections of sound, movement, and race. We will host a space of welcoming conversation, exploration, and questions regarding the deep connections of movement and racial resistance and how sound accompanied the journey.
There will also be a DJ at the end so you can have a dance and even do some networking if you fancy it!
This space has been designed by and for PoCs to share with each other our shared journeys of racial resistance. If you are a white person attending the event, please be aware of your racial privilege and the space you occupy.
