We’re All Leeds

Whoever we are and wherever we come from, most of us strive to treat others how we want to be treated. While the people in power continue to show that they don’t care about us and that they won’t protect us, we must show that we do care about one another. And we will fight back, because we’re all Leeds and we all belong here. There is enough for us all.

As we trundle along in what seems to be a dystopian competition of who can be the most inhumane Home Secretary, we have seen increasingly cruel and racist immigration policies including a 50% increase in immigration raids in 2023. For a long time now, border controls no longer sit on the edge of territories, but are present in our everyday lives – banks, schools,university, public transport, hospitals, police stations, housing, domestic violence refuges… the list goes on. When violent and racist borders are part of everyday life, we have to build resistance into our every day.

For those of us who joined us for our amazing day of resistance and celebration in September 2022, we’re doing it again! Join us from 3pm for a workshop on understanding the Hostile Environment and how to spot and resist an immigration raid as well as learning about other solidarity and migrant justice movements. From 6:00pm we will have a fundraiser gig for Leeds Anti-Raids Action so we can continue doing what we have been doing since December 2020.
We won’t stop until they stop. No pasaran!
