HEINOUS WHINING PRESENTS: Fritz Welch & Olivier DePlacido // Cod O’Donnell // Dreadful Monkey Machine // Tekkong

March 28 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Sound is music is song is sound and around and around etc etc. The third Heinous Whine for March and it’s another broad interconnected wander through making noises and doing things live from seasoned vets of improv-pre-thought world and fresh blood eager to confound through new avenues hurray!

No one turned away for lack of funds as always!

Fritz Welch & Olivier DiPlacido – Tortured guitar-drum punk tangential dread and free-wheelin’ mania! Olivier Di Placido & Fritz Welch (electric guitar + percussion, objects and voice) began
working together in 2014 with the intention of shifting energy through maximum storm
surge gymnastics. The duo discards all navigation markers in favor of a shared interest in
the simultaneous deconstruction of instruments and vocabularies. They play with a dense
concrete simplicity that layers amplified and acoustic sounds with spectral shards and
naked realism.

“In Welch and Di Placido’s music, attention to the sounding presence of the moment
suggests something akin to traditional art forms whose goal is transcendental states, but
for Welch and Di Placido this exists without nostalgia and with a minimum of tradition.
Welch and Di Placido are giving us the present, and the present is in process, is process.”
-Jorge Boehringer

Cod O’Donnell – Lurching queasy insular noisy folkish songworks from Edinbrugh

Dreadful Monkey Machine – High action anti-music destruction noise. Contact mic’d detritus unceremoniosuly decimated

Tekkong – What constitutes a cover song? Can you perform covers of un-songs? Can you perform covers of concepts?
