Kou // GGHED // Ashtray Navigations // Vicky Sparrow

June 15 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Kou – “Broken art-folk dreamscapes from the mystery crew behind that beloved Nina Harker LP. Cats purr, sleepy vocals drift, and warped drum machines stumble through surreal, Lynchian terrain. Think Faust Tapes meets Blue Moon via detuned brass, droning organs, dada pop, and stoned vocal experiments. Echoes of 70s/80s Euro art-prog (Battiato, Pierot Lunaire), 90s US surrealism (Bongwater, Royal Trux), and damaged DIY folk. It’s a bewildering, brain-rewiring trip—brief, brilliant, and beautifully strange.” – All Night Flight
“GGHED are Gaute Granli & Gabriela Gonzalez AV (NO/BE). Over the past two years, the duo have worked on merging their respective artistic realms into a singular psychedelic audio-visual performance. Using an improvisational approach to live music and video, they strive to create an experience that eludes the senses—where image and sound coalesce, reacting to each other in an attempt to merge the two into a single multisensory output. Gaute’s swerving, unpredictable use of guitar, electronics, and vocals is visually transliterated by Gabriela’s real-time video compositions—the one influencing the other in subtle, disquieting, and ultimately inextricable ways.”
Ashtray Navigations – Active for over 30 years, the most prolific outlet of underground powerhouse Phil Todd (now a duo with Mel O Dubshlaine). Hovership guitar skree and pulsating synth pattern majesty. One of the richest discographies around!
Vicky Sparrow makes poemy performance pieces that play with looping textures, echoey tensions and uneasy repetitions, producing a liveness that ambivalently unsettles itself between poetry, sound performance and experimental music, in the service of a re-sounded horizon. Working across poetry, sound, performance and criticism, Vicky teaches in Nottingham, and lives in London.
