Bistro Techno
9th December 2023 @ 11:59 pm
We are back!
We have kept you waiting long enough and we are finally ready to announce first guest dj.
We have seen him play around Leeds a few times and we couldn’t imagine a better fit for our party.
Pete James
Pete has Dj-ed since the mid 90’s. Inspired first by The Prodigy, then various djs at nights like Orbit, Gallery & Ark. Now a long-time resident at JOY Techno Sessions. He has been involved in putting on Choose Techno nights, held residency on fnoobtechno radio & played gigs around the UK and abroad.
We very much looking forward to hearing him play at Bistro!
Next on the bill we see a return of our resident,
Bushby
Bushby first got into dance music when he was about 11 years old with the sounds of Bomb The Bass and the Streetsounds Electro series being particular favourites. Since then, mainly thanks to the Mary-Anne Hobbs’ Breezeblock show on BBC Radio 1 (which he listened to religiously in his teens) he has spent a lot of time and money discovering and listening to new sounds.
Bushby is also CEO of Digital Distortions – a music label releasing mainly electro / breaky / steppy type stuff. They have also been branching out and releasing their other love: techno, under a sub label Limetree Projects as vinyl and digital releases.
We missed having John play at last installment and can’t wait for him to throw the most excellent techno at us again!
Now, Since we decided to put on another party few months ago, we were very determined to have this next guest join us.
He is a composer, performer, producer, DJ and radio presenter. His work combines principles of free improvisation, with the technological considerations of the avant-garde. In his various performances, he uses a combination of acoustic instruments, modular synthesisers and samplers to create rich soundscapes that envelope the audience. Having spent years studying the causation of flow, he endeavours to create the conditions for spontaneous and radical composition in his live work, seemingly conjuring whole universes of sound from a self-induced act of trance. This process imbues his live music with a certain sense of danger, as if everything could go wrong at any given moment.
We could not wait to tell you that next month we will be joined by
Jake Mehew!
Last but not least we will be welcoming back our resident:
Nair
Nair has been djing and putting on techno nights for over 25 years. The parties he had organised in Poland in late 90s and early 00s have massively influenced Bistro’s vibe and ethos. We love having Nair as part of our team. We wouldn’t be where we are without his expertise and love for techno and its people.
We kick off around midnight.
