Sket Gala
Leeds’ most anticipated fashion event marked on everyone’s calendar is soon approaching and we need to see you all dressed to impress!!!
This years Sket Gala will be a tribute to queer fashion icon Leigh Bowery. His artistic voice can be heard echoing down runway shows of cotoure collections today and even yesterday having inspired authorities of fashion such as Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Rick Owens, and Gareth Pugh and many more…

Catagory 1 – FETISH FANTASIQUE
Frequently using materials like latex and pvs as well as a fondness for creating garments to constrict and contort the bodies of the wearers, Leigh Bowery was not private about his likes and dislikes – such as public humiliation. It’s time to crack the gear out and show us how you get dirty!
Catagory 2 – CLUB KID COUTURE
As a pioneer of club kid fashion it would be criminal if we didn’t have a catagory to celebrate all of the colour and creatively brimming in the New York clubs of the late 80s/ early 90s. We want to see colour, camp, and surrealism!
Catagory 3 – BODYODYODIES

Leigh Bowery was known for making his own body the subject of and subject to his body to his practice; subverting societies standards of beauty and normality. Show us your body as the bespoke piece of art that it is!
