Demons (1985)

Part of Scalarama Film Festival 2025. A collaboration between Lamberto “son of Mario” Bava and giallo king Dario Argento, this is a gooey, bad-taste thrill ride about audience participation gone wrong. After being offered free tickets by a mysterious masked man, a motley crew of cinemagoers become trapped when the horror movie they’re watching starts to seep into real life. Featuring gory practical effects, a hair metal soundtrack, stilted dialogue, and the vomiting, neon-eyed demons themselves, Demons is an experience you won’t forget. Content warnings: strong bloody violence, drug use.
