SUMMARY:Passion Killers // Clit Split // Ivy Hughes-Dennis
DESCRIPTION:Formed in Barnsley\, South Yorkshire\, in 1979\, Passion Killers blended working-class punk energy with pop sensibilities and vocal harmonies to create upbeat songs that were as catchy as they were defiant. Channeling anger and frustration towards authority\, inequality\, and the looming threat of nuclear war. \nThey self-released a series of DIY cassette recordings\, selling them in school playgrounds and at local youth club gigs. One of these tapes found its way to Crass Records\, leading to their track ‘Start Again’ being featured on the seminal Anarcho-Punk compilation – ‘Bullshit Detector Volume Two’. \nBoth founding members\, Mave Mills and Harry Hamer\, later became part of Chumbawamba. \nNow\, after more than 40 years\, Passion Killers return to the stage this year for the first time since their last gig at Southfield Hotel\, Middlesbrough\, June 24\, 1984. \n  \nPlus Leeds feminist band Clit Spit  and solo performer Ivy Hughes-Dennis \n  \n  \nTickets here – https://wegottickets.com/event/660024

SUMMARY:Horizontal Bop
DESCRIPTION:Horizontal Bop is a night built around genre-blending and breaking musical boundaries – a space where DJs and artists can express the full spectrum of their influences. The name reflects the intention to shift perspectives\, think differently\, and open up sonic and social possibilities – to bop horizontally rather than follow expected paths. \nThis night is about mixed music\, mixed genres\, and blurring lines. Expect a mix of future garage\, UK bass\, house\, and techno\, woven together with music rooted in different cultural traditions – from Middle Eastern textures to African rhythms\, South American grooves\, and more. \nWharf Chambers Co-operative Club is a members’ club\, and you need to be a member\, or a guest of a member\, in order to attend. To join\, please visit wharfchambers.org. Membership costs £2 and requires a minimum of 48 hours to take effect. \nGENRE(S): Future Garage\, UK Bass\, House\, and Techno \nEVENT / TICKET LINK \nINSTAGRAM

SUMMARY:Heinous Hands Presents: Flower Corsano Duo // Pedraum Agahi // Territorial Gobbing
DESCRIPTION:£10 – 5 low or unwaged :: or just name your price :: NOTAFLOF\n\nFlower Corsano Duo is Chris Corsano (improv drum extraordinairre played with the likes of Bill Orcutt and Bjorn) and Mick Flowers (guitar sizzler in Vibracathedral Orchestra and Sun Burned Hand of the Man traveller) return in unison to the Wharf boards. Single sound forever pouring shamisen movement and drum clouds rolling over the horizon. Let it happen\n\nPedraum Agahi is a solo performance on the Santour – the Iranian hammered dulcimer. His set features arrangements of Iranian classical music and traditional folk songs from across the Middle East\, subtly infused with Western influences. Performing across the UK with his band ‘Eadala’\, but without the rhythm section\, his solo arrangements evoke a mystical atmosphere\, exploring the rich timbre of the Santour.\n\nTerritorial Gobbing is the solo vehicle for scattershot experiments in creative music. This time Dan Moi twang and autotune vocals are layered into dense emotive psych drone somewhere between tape noise\, slowcore and SoundCloud rap
