SUMMARY:BLYTH POWER / THE METATRONS / THE LOST SQUIRRELS
DESCRIPTION:BLYTH POWER were formed in 1984 by singer and drummer Joseph Porter\, formerly of Zounds and The Mob. Forty-odd years later they are still surprising audiences with their evolving blend of folk and punk rock. Joseph\, Annie\, Ben\, Dion & Hugo are celebrating the Summer solstice by returning to their favourite Leeds venue after a two-year absence. \nTHE METATRONS are a delightfully fuzzy Riot-Pop guitar band from Hertfordshire. Polly is the singer\, Rico is the bass player\, Steve is the drummer and Simon plays the guitar. This gig is part of a wider tour to promote their fifth album “The Ever Present Now” due in June 2026\, and we’re delighted to be hosting their debut at Wharf Chambers. \nTHE LOST SQUIRRELS are Harry\, Peter\, Gilbert and Finlay\, West Leeds teenagers who combine catchy choruses\, bouncy guitar riffs and downright bizarre subjects in a beautifully eccentric manner. This is their first time at Wharf Chambers too – although you may recognise singing drummer Peter from his other band\, Indignation Meeting. \nMORE INFO HERE \n\nJUMBO RECORDS \nhttps://www.jumborecords.co.uk/tickets-single.asp?event_id=33162 \n\n\n\nWEGOTTICKETS\n\nhttps://wegottickets.com/event/693973

SUMMARY:Seven by Seven
DESCRIPTION:This is a special session to celebrate the Seventh anniversary of Seven by Seven! \nIf the weather is fine we’ll be outside in the back yard at Wharf Chambers for this one. And we’ve extended the length of the session to eight hours to fit in as many sets as possible. \n\nAs always:\n\nSeven by Seven is a friendly open decks vinyl playing session. You can bring along and play us seven of your 7” 45rpm vinyl singles – hence Seven by Seven – or just come and listen to others play. The 7” 45rpm format is the only limitation. We don’t dictate the type of music – you can play whatever you want to\, and we relish that variety!\n\n\n\nNo DJ skills are needed\, and our ethos is – no pressure\, no competition\, no egos.\n\n\n\nPlease get there early to put your name down. We draw names out for the running order and later arrivals may be too late to be drawn. We also sometimes reduce the number of records that some people can play if we have high numbers attending – but we do try to fit in as many seven record sets as possible.\n\n\n\nSeven by Seven is a non-commercial operation. We run our sessions purely for the joy of playing and listening to records as a shared experience.

SUMMARY:Seven by Seven
DESCRIPTION:Seven by Seven is a friendly open decks vinyl playing session.

SUMMARY:Daltons Fen / Group Sounds / The Water
DESCRIPTION:Three rock bands from London\, Bristol and Leeds. \nDaltons Fen (London) Described by one intrepid listener as “spellbinding” and also “a nihilistic Ian Dury”. Which one was a compliment? People also call them lo-fi but they can’t do that on stage can they? Group Sounds (Bristol) \nNoise rock crew working together to slow the decay. More hooks than meet the ears. Bet they’ve listened to You Made Me Realise a lot. \nThe Water (Leeds) Human slop for old souls. Featuring people who shouldn’t play the guitar trading it back and forth. For (or rather\, by) fans of the Dirty Three. \nMORE INFO HERE AND HERE

SUMMARY:Mini psych-fest headlined by acclaimed Brazilian band BIKE\, plus Thee Lucifer Sams\, The Dead Zoo & others. A real trip!
DESCRIPTION:ACIDFEST LEEDS brings acclaimed Brazilian psych-rockers Bike as headliners of this mini psych fest at Wharf Chambers\, featuring three bands and three solo acts that offer a diverse mix of farout sounds. \nBike have toured around the UK and the world with their unique brand of tropical psychedelia\, which found influential fans such as Anton Newcombe (they’ve recorded with Anton and opened for Brian Jonestown Massacre). Always nothings less than brilliant live\, BIKE are for sure one of the best psych bands in activity today. \nThee Lucifer Sams are true visionaries\, refusing to put their music on platforms such as Spotify or having social media. Their mix of semi-improvised psychedelic noise draws equally from the abstraction of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd\, Lemmy’s Hawkwind and Sonic Youth noise – with no songs just a full-on psychedelic rollercoaster of sound. \nThe Dead Zoo are a proudly trans led\, corn fed noisy post-punk band from London\, making their live debut in Leeds. Always putting on an energetic live set\, they are always worth watching. \nMadonovan is the best shoegaze artist you’ve never heard before\, and an unique concept – a tribute to itself\, covering songs written\, but never released\, over 30 years ago. A cathartic ode to lost youth\, dreams and rock’n’roll itself. \nEsa Shields is a truly one-of-a-kind artist\, creating melodies and sounds the likes of which never heard before or since. It’s like Brian Wilson on Mars\, tripping on acid. \nDominoes is a brilliant\, solo artist who’s equal parts Ivor Cutler and Syd Barrett. Rich in melody\, ideas and whimsy\, you are sure to enjoy his set. \nACIDFEST also features a killer\, exclusive psych playlist to keep you in the mood before and after each act\, as well as trippy visuals to create an unique atmosphere. It is more than just a “gig”\, but a true happening. This is what the Liverpool Psychedelic Society always offers at our events: an unique experience\, something that the mainstream is unable to offer\, truly grassroots and open to all. \nThis is not about any “scene”\, we just create our own culture and everyone is welxcome to enjoy… so come and join the society! \nTickets: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/acidfest-leeds-feat-bike-br-thee-lucifer-sams-more-tickets-1985717362084 \n
