SUMMARY:Computer Club 03
DESCRIPTION:The third edition of Computer Club welcomes back our regular trinity of electronic explorers to the Wharf Chambers mainframe\, whilst initiating Beau Beaumont into the Computer Club family. Continuing our pursuit of deep-listening dancefloor moments and improvised signal flow\, this session reconfigures the night with B2Bs\, AV illusions\, and genre-resistant selections. \nBEAU BEAUMONT (LIVE) – Fusing spatial texture and rhythmic dissonance\, Beau’s live set traverses the outer edges of club energy and electroacoustic space. Expect hybrid forms and raw circuitry. \nJAKE MEHEW + NILEHN (LIVE B2B) – A debut back-to-back performance from two modular minds. Jake’s patchwork sonics meet Nilehn’s Syntakt-driven brutalism in an improvised\, hardware-only collaboration of deep techno\, noise\, and entrained chaos. \nNIKNAK (DJ SET) – Returning to Computer Club with a reconstructed arsenal of futuristic breakbeats\, turntablism\, and dubby delays. Expect the unexpected from this genre-dismantling selector. \nAs always\, visuals play a critical role. Our live AV system continues to evolve with each event — expanding in complexity\, fidelity\, and responsiveness. From raw signal feedback to generative illusions\, the screen becomes a second stage. \nJoin us in the late-night command line for another deep dive into live electronic expression. \nPROMOTER \nTICKET LINK \nGENRE(S): Techno\, IDM\, Breakbeats \n

SUMMARY:
DESCRIPTION:…sound artist\, musician\, improviser\, performer\, composer \, noisician or as you wish to call or name those activities !  • • • is the soundless moniker of citizen Nikola H. Mounoud. \nWorking the realm of analog\, digital and hybrid feedbacks\, using a laptop computer with a modular software and an analog mixer\, a combination of tools turned into a proper\, live performance oriented instrument. It is a sharp and a precise tool as needed\, of course well hewn from the coal face of improvisation ! Unlike chords\, wind and skins used for acoustic sound\, feedbacks are unstoppable implacable sonic evolution. The work is meant to be performed and heard live as well as\, time to time\, recorded and shared over the internet. \nJoanne Armitage is a composer\, improviser and researcher based in Leeds\, England\, notable for her practice in live coded music\, and research into haptics in music performance. She performs internationally using the SuperCollider language\, including as half of live coding duo ALGOBABEZ with Shelly Knotts associated with the Algorave movement. Her music is often performed in a club setting\, while embracing error and uncertainty. She is also known as an advocate for diversity in music and technology\, including through invited workshops. Armitage is a lecturer in Digital Media at the School of Media and Communication\, University of Leeds\, UK. \nHannah Bannanah – Deep fried scrambled country jank \nInverted Nepal – Intermittent harsh noise duo\, writhing and juddering signals blown out into oblivion \nMay 14th / 7pm / £8/5/PAYF

SUMMARY:Dirty Otter presents - Truck Violence
DESCRIPTION:Truck Violence (Montréal\, QC) is a medley that wails its way through the bitters of modern Western Canadian\nhardcore and folk\, an honesty and shamelessness in disappointment that is both a comfort and a stern regard.\nStarting in 2021 with a move from the prairies of Alberta to Montréal\, guitarist-banjoist Paul Lecours and singer-poet\nKarsyn Henderson\, from sticks to city\, have had to adapt whilst maintaining roots and authenticity. Also informed by\npunk\, shoegaze and sludge\, their unique sound is the product of a multiple-project span that saw an array of sonic\nchanges\, including through prior incarnations\, No Cru5t and Truck. With the full-length release of Violence (July\n5th\, 2024 via Mothland)\, the route is set for the outfit’s crashing ode to their roots and violent betterment to continue\nat full speed. Aiming to embrace the catharsis of hardcore\, while commemorating their roots in folk and country\nmusic\, this debut long-player from the Montréal four-piece is concerned with the all-too-hushed addiction\, abuse and\ndysfunction in isolated country families. Highly recommended to fans of Show Me the Body\, Chat Pile or The Chariot. \n  \nTICKETS – https://www.seetickets.com/event/truck-violence/wharf-chambers/3405005

SUMMARY:Seven by Seven
DESCRIPTION:Seven by Seven is a friendly open decks vinyl playing session. You can bring along and play us seven of your 7” 45rpm vinyl singles – hence Seven by Seven – or just come and listen to others play. The 7” 45rpm format is the only limitation. We don’t dictate the type of music – you can play whatever you want to\, and we relish that variety!\n\n\n\nNo DJ skills are needed\, and our ethos is – no pressure\, no competition\, no egos.\n\n\n\nPlease get there early to put your name down. We draw names out for the running order and later arrivals may be too late to be drawn. We also sometimes reduce the number of records that some people can play if we have high numbers attending – but we do try to fit in as many seven record sets as possible.\n\n\n\nSeven by Seven is a non-commercial operation. We run our sessions purely for the joy of playing and listening to records as a shared experience.

SUMMARY:Trans Joy / Trans Noise
DESCRIPTION:Trans Joy / Trans Noise is a gig series that platforms Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Artists across the UK! \nTo headline\, we’ve got special guests\, Fetch\, an up-and-coming\, instrument-swapping pop-punk 3-piece from London. \nMade up of Beth White\, Chuck SJ\, and Frankie Tuffragettes – all songwriters and performers on the queer punk scene who came together to add some much-needed queertrans energy into a genre that is famously cishet and full ‘o dudes. \nFFO: Early Paramore\, Green Day\, Fall Out Boy\, and Chumped \nThe main support for the evening is Gum Disease! \nGum Disease are your favourite least favourite queer clown band hated by 9/10 dentists\, consisting of Avery Holdom\, Phoebe Kift & Oli Lake. Creating alternative rock chaotic enough to give you cavities. \nThey are Gum Disease and they’re gonna make your teeth fall out! \nFFO: Idles\, Blue Foster\, Soft Play \nFollowing the 2000s pop-punk sound theme to a T are our openers National Citizens\, these Leeds locals refuse to get off the stage with back to back gigs all year! \nDigging their way out of their parents’ garage in 2017 came National Citizens\, a couple of young trans* teenagers who loved covering their favourite band’s best hits at a local pub open mic. Although not so teenaged anymore\, these guys haven’t stopped rocking with a multitude of original tracks. Their latest single is Halloween\, released in October 2024\, referred to as a catchy Heartstopper-esque hit! Full of party vibes and young adult angst\, this track is a chantable pop-rock hit. \nFFO: Pale Waves\, The Wombats\, Neck Deep\, and Wunderhorse \nWe’re talking queer\, we’re talking pop-punk\, we’re talking all round great f*cking night! \nTICKETS – https://tktp.as/ERGZOB
