SUMMARY:Vanity Fairy w/ Gladboy & Martin Manning
DESCRIPTION:Vanity Fairy \nShe’s recently opened for The Last Dinner Party at their biggest headline show to date\, has been championed by BBC 6\, DIY\, CLASH\, NME\, Apple Music and CHANEL: you may not know her name yet\, but Vanity Fairy seems destined to transcend her underground cult status. \nBetween her shimmering vocal falsetto (which has been compared to everyone from Barry Gibb to Kate Bush) and onstage theatrics\, the iconic disco darling is earning a reputation as one of the most mesmerising live performers around. \nFollowing support slots for Warmduscher\, Katy J Pearson\, Audiobooks\, Lime Garden\, Insecure Men\, Girl Ray\, Pip Blom and more\, Fairy dropped her sophomore EP ‘Top of the Pops’ on Moshi Moshi records April 2024. \nThe EP spins a nostalgia-laden world that plays with kitsch-pop tropes and revels in the hedonistic indulgences of classic disco. But there’s also something strange at work here. Far from content to ape her be-dazzled Studio 54 idols\, Fairy adds something new to the mix. It’s a bittersweet\, playful\, wistful sensibility that works itself out in a sound that both reveres and toys with the music she loves with all her heart. \nThough she sparkles on record\, Vanity Fairy is undeniably best experienced live. ‘A spectacle in the truest sense of the word\, her show spans high camp theatrics\, 80’s indebted synth-pop and sultry disco bangers… unavoidably infectious and utterly joy inducing’ – DIY. \nGladboy \nJunkedelic misfits Gladboy have one of the underground’s most unique and frenetic live shows. Confounding\, sometimes ear-piercing\, but always melodic\, they’ve enjoyed supports with the likes of The Orielles\, The Regrettes\, Laundromat\, Jeffrey Lewis\, The Cool Greenhouse\, Willie J Healey\, Starcrawler\, English Teacher and Brix & The Extricated. \n‘This is art-pop – think Bowie\, early Talking Heads or Pulp – that veers into psych and dream-pop but always has a roughness and bite that gives it an edge’ – Outline Magazine \nMartin Manning \nConjured from a dream\, the multi-faceted Martin Manning emerges from our subconscious. \n  \nHaunting the waterways of Yorkshire with harps and broken drum machines\, they recite poetry of the mother hill. These Avant Pop Megastars forge fractured dance music with pop at its hearth\, evoking shades of Cabaret Volatire\, Dean Blunt & Arthur Russell. \n“What a year to be alive\, as Martin Manning turns 45!” \n  \nTickets here – \nVanity Fairy x Gladboy x Martin Manning Tickets\, Wed 18 Jun 2025 at 19:30 | Eventbrite

SUMMARY:Kou // GGHED // Ashtray Navigations // Vicky Sparrow
DESCRIPTION:Kou – “Broken art-folk dreamscapes from the mystery crew behind that beloved Nina Harker LP. Cats purr\, sleepy vocals drift\, and warped drum machines stumble through surreal\, Lynchian terrain. Think Faust Tapes meets Blue Moon via detuned brass\, droning organs\, dada pop\, and stoned vocal experiments. Echoes of 70s/80s Euro art-prog (Battiato\, Pierot Lunaire)\, 90s US surrealism (Bongwater\, Royal Trux)\, and damaged DIY folk. It’s a bewildering\, brain-rewiring trip—brief\, brilliant\, and beautifully strange.” – All Night Flight\n\n“GGHED are Gaute Granli & Gabriela Gonzalez AV (NO/BE). Over the past two years\, the duo have worked on merging their respective artistic realms into a singular psychedelic audio-visual performance. Using an improvisational approach to live music and video\, they strive to create an experience that eludes the senses—where image and sound coalesce\, reacting to each other in an attempt to merge the two into a single multisensory output. Gaute’s swerving\, unpredictable use of guitar\, electronics\, and vocals is visually transliterated by Gabriela’s real-time video compositions—the one influencing the other in subtle\, disquieting\, and ultimately inextricable ways.”\n\nAshtray Navigations – Active for over 30 years\, the most prolific outlet of underground powerhouse Phil Todd (now a duo with Mel O Dubshlaine). Hovership guitar skree and pulsating synth pattern majesty. One of the richest discographies around!\n\nVicky Sparrow makes poemy performance pieces that play with looping textures\, echoey tensions and uneasy repetitions\, producing a liveness that ambivalently unsettles itself between poetry\, sound performance and experimental music\, in the service of a re-sounded horizon. Working across poetry\, sound\, performance and criticism\, Vicky teaches in Nottingham\, and lives in London.\n\n£8/5/PAYF June 15th 7pm

SUMMARY:It Came From Planet Wharf
DESCRIPTION:Step onto the spaceship and join Ding Frisby for his first headline in this spider system\, with extra special interstellar guests Them There Cowboys and ZOLATEC.\n\nCosmic outfits encouraged.\n\nDing Frisby\nDing Frisby is an intergalactic\, guitar-wielding drag thing writing songs for queer aliens everywhere. Described as a “space-age thrill ride” and “Bowie meets Victoria Wood”\, Ding combines cosmic loops with shape-shifting stories of life on Earth\, all while channelling the radical campery of classic schi-fi villains.\n\nWhether he’s sharing his DIY music videos\, singing at rallies or working on an intergalactic gig-theatre show\, Ding’s big on local queer community and hosts Out + Loud queer open mic where he originally crashed in Huddersfield.\n\nThem There Cowboys\nStrap in\, Strap on\, and get Strapped Down for Them There Cowboys. They will have you jumpin’\, singin’\, cryin’\, and dancin’ to the dam tootinest queer cuntry music in the world. Queer cuntry music that imagines a brighter\, queerer and anti-colonial tomorrow! Queer cuntry music by three non-binary cowboys who put the West on trial and take Americana to task! Beau Disco\, Six-Finger Slick and Rene Rose are three good ol’ theys with a taste for the honkiest and tonkiest tunes that make your ass shake\, your heart sing\, and your fist raised.\n\nZOLATEC\nBreakbeats stutter in dark soundscapes\, cut with ethereal vocals\, dreamy polyrhythms and shoegaze textures. Speaking from an underrepresented South Asian-Caribbean perspective\, ZOLATEC explores existentialism\, exclusion\, and heartbreak\, with an emphasis on authenticity in sound design.\n\n“My music addresses the shortfall of authentic steel drums in music. This island instrument was standardised in the 1930’s and is thus relatively new. Whilst there is some digital representation of steelpan in current music\, my aim is to bring this instrument to people live\, showcasing its true beauty and dynamics. As one of the very few active steelpan musicians in the North West\, I want to support this instrument in getting the recognition it deserves.”\n\nThe venue has step free access via the back and ramped access into the event space. There is an accessible bathroom. Some seating will be available and can be reserved in advance by emailing atomicpresentslive@gmail.com\n\nNo one turned away for lack of funds.\nCurated by Atomic in partnership with Middle Floor and Wharf Chambers.\n\nTICKETS HERE – wegottickets.com/event/659282/

SUMMARY:Shadwell Army presents: CUSTODY / DIAZ BROTHERS / MISFORTUNE COOKIE
DESCRIPTION:Custody return to Leeds from Finland once again after recently releasing their second full length which again is choc-a-block full of catchy riffs\, structured instrumental interplay and soaring vocals which remain reminiscent of the likes of Samiam. \n  \nDiaz Brothers hark from Sunderland and whilst this may bring forth a lazy/obvious comparison they have blossomed into one of the country’s finest melodic punk bands of the current era whilst drawing from the likes of Dag Nasty and the late 80s US scene. Engaging vocalist Golly remains as entertaining and energetic as he was from his HDQ days. They have a new LP out in time for this and it promises to be a cracker. \n  \nArmed with a number of new songs which will form their second LP\, Misfortune Cookie bring the country/folk influenced warble of Helen and marry it to their driven bass and guitar onslaught with the occasion cowbell thrown into the mix.

SUMMARY:Seven by Seven
DESCRIPTION:Seven by Seven is a friendly open decks vinyl playing session. You can bring along and play us seven of your 7” 45rpm vinyl singles – hence Seven by Seven – or just come and listen to others play. The 7” 45rpm format is the only limitation. We don’t dictate the type of music – you can play whatever you want to\, and we relish that variety!\n\n\n\nNo DJ skills are needed\, and our ethos is – no pressure\, no competition\, no egos.\n\n\n\nPlease get there early to put your name down. We draw names out for the running order and later arrivals may be too late to be drawn. We also sometimes reduce the number of records that some people can play if we have high numbers attending – but we do try to fit in as many seven record sets as possible.\n\n\n\nSeven by Seven is a non-commercial operation. We run our sessions purely for the joy of playing and listening to records as a shared experience.

SUMMARY:Eric Chenaux + support
DESCRIPTION:ERIC CHENAUX (France/Canada) \nFor nearly two decades\, Eric Chenaux has been gently twisting songs into new shapes. Pairing what has been described by the Guardian as “one of the all-time great singing voices in popular music” with sparse\, metronomic rhythms\, the Canadian artist is capable of conjuring up songs that feel as familiar and well-trodden as standards. It’s through his spontaneous guitar playing and lightly abrasive pedal improvisation that they change\, stretched into something stranger. \nOn a run of homespun records that began with 2015’s Skullsplitter\, Chenaux has started to leave time behind\, letting his songs stay for as long as they please. Vamping on simple\, domestic melodies\, his songs quietly unravel\, tangled up in a kind of diffuse jazz music that stays patient\, lies low\, and drifts away. His guitar makes subtle interventions\, warping the original thought that has carried us this far. \nDrawing on folk\, jazz\, and noise\, Chenaux’s music travels far while holding us in place. Last year\, he released Delights of My Life\, released as a trio alongside Phillipe Melanson and Ryan Driver. For this show\, he’ll be performing solo. \nNIKA TICCIATI\nLeeds-based improviser Nika Ticciati leads on keys in a goopy\, string-snapping performance for three\, reeling along like-minded mavericks Iris Casling and Teruki Chan for additional double bass and drums delirium. \nFONDANT\nA rare outing for this cross-country trio\, traversing beyond the footpath into thickets of poetry\, cello and noise. Each possessing their own quietly brilliant mode of expression\, the artists Fondant allow their individual crafts to overlap\, overgrow and naturally entwine. \n£8 advance / £12 on the door\n£5 unwaged / no one turned away for lack of funds \nYou must be a member or guest of a member to attend events at Wharf Chambers. SUMMARY:Computer Club 03
DESCRIPTION:The third edition of Computer Club welcomes back our regular trinity of electronic explorers to the Wharf Chambers mainframe\, whilst initiating Beau Beaumont into the Computer Club family. Continuing our pursuit of deep-listening dancefloor moments and improvised signal flow\, this session reconfigures the night with B2Bs\, AV illusions\, and genre-resistant selections. \nBEAU BEAUMONT (LIVE) – Fusing spatial texture and rhythmic dissonance\, Beau’s live set traverses the outer edges of club energy and electroacoustic space. Expect hybrid forms and raw circuitry. \nJAKE MEHEW + NILEHN (LIVE B2B) – A debut back-to-back performance from two modular minds. Jake’s patchwork sonics meet Nilehn’s Syntakt-driven brutalism in an improvised\, hardware-only collaboration of deep techno\, noise\, and entrained chaos. \nNIKNAK (DJ SET) – Returning to Computer Club with a reconstructed arsenal of futuristic breakbeats\, turntablism\, and dubby delays. Expect the unexpected from this genre-dismantling selector. \nAs always\, visuals play a critical role. Our live AV system continues to evolve with each event — expanding in complexity\, fidelity\, and responsiveness. From raw signal feedback to generative illusions\, the screen becomes a second stage. \nJoin us in the late-night command line for another deep dive into live electronic expression. \nPROMOTER \nTICKET LINK \nGENRE(S): Techno\, IDM\, Breakbeats \n
