We don’t dictate the type of music – you can play whatever you want to\, and we relish that variety!\n\n\n\nNo DJ skills are needed\, and our ethos is – no pressure\, no competition\, no egos.\n\n\n\nPlease get there early to put your name down. We draw names out for the running order and later arrivals may be too late to be drawn. We also sometimes reduce the number of records that some people can play if we have high numbers attending – but we do try to fit in as many seven record sets as possible.\n\n\n\nSeven by Seven is a non-commercial operation. We run our sessions purely for the joy of playing and listening to records as a shared experience.

With a mixture of traditional folk songs and some of his own doing\, his playing is described as ‘beautiful\, stark and heartfelt’\, and is a must for fans of Bert Jansch\, Davey Graham and John Fahey.\n‘Northumberland’s best kept secret’ The Wire\n‘Unique marriage between British folk music\, avant garde guitar-playing and punk rock spirit’ Supersonic Festival\n\nIntroducing Horse Loom is Matthew Hedley Stoppard with a selection of his own poems which focuses on ancestral hurt\, birds\, weeds and stones. His first collection – A Family behind Glass – (Valley press) was a Guardian readers’ Book of the Year. His poems have appeared in Butcher’s Dog\, Iota\, Magma\, and Shearsman\, and he has appeared on programs for BBC radio 3\, 4 and 6. His second collection of poetry – The Garland King – (Valley Press) explores the traditional customs and rituals of working /labouring classes.\n\nA reincarnation of Empress Maud\, E.M. is a solo project from Kathy Gray (Nape Neck/Gullet Obvs/Mia La Metta). Semi-improvised\, E.M will perform archaic incantations using percussive instruments and vocal chanting. Straddling the medieval and the futuristic\, E.M’s performance will engage you\, stimulate you and challenge you.\n\nMulti instrumentalisation and spliced sounds Gris Marguerite conjure an immersive and ominous experience featuring a malevolent triangular portal to the darkest depths. Utilising the big screen and a macabre and ambiguous sense of theatre\, Sarah Mc Watt (sound/physical horrors) and Wesley Loveday (film/editing) also use processed assorted woodwind\, a tuned bicycle wheel\, vocals and percussion\, smoke\, jelly\, foil\, feathers\, body parts and the grotesque to create a brooding and unsettling modern day gothic fairy tale. DESCRIPTION:In this film\, Chris McKim rearticulates a rich archive to present a powerful documentary on artist\, writer\, and activist David Wojnarowicz. \nMcKim’s archival work begins with the film’s title – a reference to homophobic doodle which Wojnarowicz found and incorporated into a painting of the same name – and takes us through a treasure trove of tape recordings\, videos\, Super 8 films\, and other ephemera. These fragments\, articulated together\, capture Wojnarowicz’s rage\, wit and tenderness\, as well as an entanglement of art\, life and politics. In the process of portraying Wojnarowicz\, McKim also presents an image of New York at the height of the AIDS crisis and a US political context that’s staged to resonate today. \n\nContent warnings: representations of sex\, drug use\, homophobia\, domestic violence\, sexual abuse\, and AIDS-related illness and death. You can bring along and play us seven of your 7” 45rpm vinyl singles – hence Seven by Seven – or just come and listen to others play. The 7” 45rpm format is the only limitation. We don’t dictate the type of music – you can play whatever you want to\, and we relish that variety!\n\n\n\nNo DJ skills are needed\, and our ethos is – no pressure\, no competition\, no egos.\n\n\n\nPlease get there early to put your name down. We draw names out for the running order and later arrivals may be too late to be drawn. We also sometimes reduce the number of records that some people can play if we have high numbers attending – but we do try to fit in as many seven record sets as possible.\n\n\n\nSeven by Seven is a non-commercial operation. We run our sessions purely for the joy of playing and listening to records as a shared experience.

DESCRIPTION:Formed in Barnsley\, South Yorkshire\, in 1979\, Passion Killers blended working-class punk energy with pop sensibilities and vocal harmonies to create upbeat songs that were as catchy as they were defiant. Channeling anger and frustration towards authority\, inequality\, and the looming threat of nuclear war. \nThey self-released a series of DIY cassette recordings\, selling them in school playgrounds and at local youth club gigs. His set features arrangements of Iranian classical music and traditional folk songs from across the Middle East\, subtly infused with Western influences. Performing across the UK with his band ‘Eadala’\, but without the rhythm section\, his solo arrangements evoke a mystical atmosphere\, exploring the rich timbre of the Santour.\n\nTerritorial Gobbing is the solo vehicle for scattershot experiments in creative music.
