Forty-odd years later they are still surprising audiences with their evolving blend of folk and punk rock. Joseph\, Annie\, Ben\, Dion & Hugo are celebrating the Summer solstice by returning to their favourite Leeds venue after a two-year absence. \nTHE METATRONS are a delightfully fuzzy Riot-Pop guitar band from Hertfordshire. Polly is the singer\, Rico is the bass player\, Steve is the drummer and Simon plays the guitar. This gig is part of a wider tour to promote their fifth album “The Ever Present Now” due in June 2026\, and we’re delighted to be hosting their debut at Wharf Chambers. \nTHE LOST SQUIRRELS are Harry\, Peter\, Gilbert and Finlay\, West Leeds teenagers who combine catchy choruses\, bouncy guitar riffs and downright bizarre subjects in a beautifully eccentric manner. DESCRIPTION:ACIDFEST LEEDS brings acclaimed Brazilian psych-rockers Bike as headliners of this mini psych fest at Wharf Chambers\, featuring three bands and three solo acts that offer a diverse mix of farout sounds. \nBike have toured around the UK and the world with their unique brand of tropical psychedelia\, which found influential fans such as Anton Newcombe (they’ve recorded with Anton and opened for Brian Jonestown Massacre). Always nothings less than brilliant live\, BIKE are for sure one of the best psych bands in activity today. \nThee Lucifer Sams are true visionaries\, refusing to put their music on platforms such as Spotify or having social media. Their mix of semi-improvised psychedelic noise draws equally from the abstraction of Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd\, Lemmy’s Hawkwind and Sonic Youth noise – with no songs just a full-on psychedelic rollercoaster of sound. \nThe Dead Zoo are a proudly trans led\, corn fed noisy post-punk band from London\, making their live debut in Leeds. Always putting on an energetic live set\, they are always worth watching. \nMadonovan is the best shoegaze artist you’ve never heard before\, and an unique concept – a tribute to itself\, covering songs written\, but never released\, over 30 years ago. A cathartic ode to lost youth\, dreams and rock’n’roll itself. \nEsa Shields is a truly one-of-a-kind artist\, creating melodies and sounds the likes of which never heard before or since. It’s like Brian Wilson on Mars\, tripping on acid. \nDominoes is a brilliant\, solo artist who’s equal parts Ivor Cutler and Syd Barrett. Rich in melody\, ideas and whimsy\, you are sure to enjoy his set. \nACIDFEST also features a killer\, exclusive psych playlist to keep you in the mood before and after each act\, as well as trippy visuals to create an unique atmosphere.It is more than just a “gig”\, but a true happening. DESCRIPTION:What happens when drag becomes a global phenomenon?\n\nRolling off the back of the Drag Race lorry\, armed with nothing but a RuPeter Badge and a fading memory of the Werk Room\, Marmalade wades into the territory of post show “fame”\, and is left wondering…\n\nWhy did she do that? Why did she go on the show? What kind of impact does the show\, one of that scale\, have on local scenes and their? A show that doesn’t necessarily platform the drag she loves\, and why doesn’t it? What kind of drag does she love? Does she still love her own drag? Why does she do it?\n\nWelcome to Spotlight – a new venue designed\, operated and built by Marmalade herself (it wasn’t\, this is theatre)\, and her chance to explore these questions\, pretend she has answers\, and celebrate the drag and queer artists she loves.\n\n\nDevelopment stages of this show were funded by Arts Council of Wales. Directed by Elan Isaac\, with written material by Priya Hall\, creative support by Leo Drayton\, and produced by Daniel Huw Bowen on behalf of The Queer Emporium\, Marm’s Spotlight is a newly created theatre show by star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and drag artist\, Marmalade. \nIllustration by cakelikeowen \nCast \n\nMarmalade\n\nMarmalade is a drag artist and seamstress\, who taught herself to sew during the lockdown period caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. She has made outfits for organisations including Frân Wen and National Eisteddfod Cymru\, though she is most well known for outfits made for contestants on the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise. Her sewing recently made her a Guinness Book Record Holder and her outfit\, ‘Marmalade’s Marie Antoinette Drag Ensemble’\, is currently on display as part of the Marie Antoinette Style exhibition at the V&A South Kensington until March 2026.\n\nIn 2024\, she competed on the sixth series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK\, placing in the top four. Since then\, she has performed at notable LGBTQ+ venues and spaces\, including The Clapham Grand\, The Glee Club and Pride Cymru.\n\n\nThistle Thing \nThistle Thing is a sharp-tongued\, high-glamour performer with a love for character\, detail\, and a perfectly timed wink.
